Sarah Alexander

My name is Sarah AIexander, BEd (Hons) and I am a fully qualified teacher who has worked in schools in Bristol since 1997 . I have extensive experience and skills in working with children in both Reception, Key Stage One & Two.  In 2012, I was fortunate to have the fantastic opportunity to branch out and train in the specialist role of a Reading Recovery Teacher.  This  exclusive role enabled me to help low level readers in Year One. My qualified Reading Recovery status has allowed me to help children make accelerated  progress and reach their age related expectation (ARE) for reading. I now hold a Level 3 certificate in Practical Solutions for Dyslexia Plus awarded by the British Dyslexia Association and have supported children up to Year 6.

In 2017,I set up ARC (Alexander Reading Consultancy)  in order to support schools, academies, parents and carers. The advantage for the children is that I tailor my skills to their  individual needs. For the educational establishment who employs me, it allows flexibility to provide hours that suit budgets and requirements.  You may need support at different times of the year and benefit from short term or long term contracts. In the current era with financial restraints, I can offer a unique service that will work for businesses, parents, carers and most importantly the children who need more expertise to help them read.
